What does this resource cover? 

This lesson plan was created by the Gail Borden Public Library District and shared on DigitalLearn.org and will teach learners the basics of file management. 

Note: This lesson plan explains navigating with Windows 7 version of File Explorer.

What will community members learn? 

According to the included lesson plan, after learners complete this lesson, they will be able to:

  • Explain what a file is and all related terminology,
  • Navigate File Explorer to locate files,
  • Create new files and manipulate existing files by
    • Copying
    • Moving
    • Renaming
    • Deleting
  • Create a new folder and manipulate existing folders by
    • Moving
    • Renaming
    • Deleting

How long will this program take?

90 minutes 

What materials are needed?

Projection screen, computers with Internet access, pens/pencils, activity sheets, handouts, participant surveys. Lesson materials are linked within the lesson plan.
