2024 Year in Review Report
Tech Support and Helpline
Handled 18,159 calls in 2024 - a 198% increase in call volume from the previous year.
9% of callers requested bilingual assistance.
Began offering Chromebook support appointments.
Developed a four-part instructional Chromebook OS recovery video series.
Digital Navigator Training
- Offered 33 Digital Navigator trainings.
- Facilitated 4 free, virtual digital navigation trainings in partnership with the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA).
- 341 individuals attended these four, two- hours training sessions.
- 1,113 digital navigation training hours provided in partnership with NDIA, Talk, Text, and Train, and Pratt Adventure & Beyond training partnership programs.
- 211 digital navigators completed the training programs.
Tech Education
Reached 14,134 individuals through 224 digital skills classes and 177 community events.
Developed a robust network of 181 partners at county, statewide, and national levels.
Training & Conferences
160 digital inclusion advocates attended the second annual Maryland Statewide Digital Equity Summit at the National Federation of the Blind.
74 attendees, 13 presenters, and 11 sponsors attended the 2024 Cultivating Innovation in Maryland's Agriculture and Technology Conference.
492 individuals attended the Digital Equity Webinar Series
Resource Development
The UMD College of Information (INFO) curriculum team curated 636 resources, including
499 self-guided Get Help Resources to connect learners with free training and tutorials and
137 Give Help Resources for anyone interested in helping others build their digital literacy.
eGovernment Resources
- eGov resources receive nearly 15,000 website views.
- Resources receive publicity from MarylandToday, INFO, and UME.
Asset Mapping Maryland
- 314 resources added to Maryland's digital asset map.
Post ACP Broadband Support
- ACP ends in April 2024
- Marylanders Online develops and shares ACP Wind-Fown FAQs and information.
- Helpline handles 2,650 calls in the following month of May 2024
- In partnership with Penn State Extension, Marylanders Online launches the Maryland Broadband Navigator tool.
Print & Digital Communications
The website ends the year with 30,907, 95,841 page views, and 43,158 sessions.
14% of all website page views were for the Schedule an Appointment at the Department of Motor Vehicles resource.
