Announcing the 2026 MONET Rolling Training Cohort

Registration is now open for the 2026 MONET training rolling cohort, a flexible digital navigator certification course designed for the busy public-serving professionals of Maryland. Developed by the University of Maryland Extension in partnership with the University of Maryland College of Information, MONET offers a new standard in digital navigator certification. This training is available at no cost to Maryland libraries, schools, workforce programs, healthcare partners, social service agencies, and other public-serving agencies. Read more about MONET.
2026 MONET Cohort Overview (March-July, 2026)
Earn Your Digital Navigator Certification On a Flexible Schedule! The 2026 rolling cohort operates in a seven-cycle framework that enables participants to enroll anytime between March and July 2026. Each cycle includes three weeks of bi-weekly live instruction sessions, to be completed concurrently with the 12 self-paced online modules. Participants leave with actionable tools, job-ready practices, and community-focused digital inclusion strategies that strengthen digital inclusion.
2026 MONET Cohort Details
- Rolling enrollment - join anytime between March 3 and July 23, 2026
- No-cost for Maryland-serving individuals
- To earn a certificate, graduates must complete all required self-paced and live online sessions by August 2026
Self-Paced Modules (Required)
- 12 online modules must be completed independently through UMD's Canvas ELMS
Live Course Components (Required)
Live instructional sessions are held twice weekly.
- Tuesdays, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m
- Thursdays, 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Live sessions are designed to deepen understanding of topic material, build confidence, and translate knowledge into community impact. One live session must be attended for each course topic to receive certification.
Participants can join throughout any cycle and attend any weekly live instruction session that fits their schedule. Drop by to repeat a live session or to get a refresher on a certain topic.
