Exciting news for Maryland’s community organizations and digital literacy advocates!
The College of Information (INFO) at the University of Maryland (UMD) is launching a new course this Fall 2026: AI Literacy for Community Empowerment.
In this innovative program, UMD INFO undergraduate students will collaborate directly with libraries, non-profits, and educational institutions to co-design AI literacy learning experiences tailored to the community's unique needs.
Together, students and community partners will create practical, ready-to-use resources, including:
- Interactive workshops and training sessions
- Customized lesson plans and facilitator guides
- Accessible community programs and digital learning tools
All developed materials will be implemented locally and shared through the Marylanders Online curriculum repository to expand Maruland's digital inclusion toolkit.
