Julie Slivka serves as the Communications Manager for the University of Maryland Extension (UME) Digital Literacy project. She has over ten years of successful experience working with non-profits, state and federal government, and other sectors in communications, marketing, and program management. Prior to joining the Marylanders Online team, Julie served as a Community Educator for UME’s Reinforcing Overdose Prevention Through Trainings and Advocacy (MarylandROPTA) program. She is a certified Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, Botvin Lifeskills, and Overdose Lifeline instructor and serves on the Mid-Shore Health Improvement Coalition. As a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina and a two-time AmeriCorps graduate, Julie is dedicated to finding innovative ways to transform the world for the better by sharing resources and information with those who need it most.
