Julie currently serves as the Communications Manager for the University of Maryland Extension (UME) Digital Literacy project, and has been working with UME since 2020. Prior to joining the Marylanders Online team, Julie worked as a Community Educator for UME’s Reinforcing Overdose Prevention Through Trainings and Advocacy (MarylandROPTA) program. She is a certified Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, Botvin Lifeskills, and Overdose Lifeline instructor and serves on the Mid-Shore Health Improvement Coalition.
Julie has over 15 years of successful experience working with non-profits, state and federal government, and other sectors in communications, marketing, and program management. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina and also served as an AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) and in the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) where she earned a Presidential and Congressional award. A fun fact about Julie is that she has visited all 50 US states and is dedicated to finding innovative ways to transform the world for the better.
