What does this resource cover? 

This lesson was created by CommonSense Education and will help tenth grade-aged students learn about the privacy risks of new technologies. Downloadable materials are available in both English and Spanish.

What will community members learn? 

According to the included lesson plan, after learners complete this lesson, they will be able to:

  • Identify important benefits and privacy risks that new technologies present
  • Decide whether or not the benefits of new technologies outweigh their privacy risks
  • Use the Take a Stand thinking routine to consider both the benefits and the risks of new technologies

How long will this program take?

  • 50 minutes

What materials are needed?

  • Projector, projection screen, computer with Internet access for the instructor, lesson slides (downloadable), handouts (downloadable)
