Each year millions of Americans fall victim to financial scams & fraud. As the holidays approach, learn how to avoid common digital ones, including how to spot them.

A Digital Educator from Marylanders Online, based at the University of Maryland, will share examples, discuss typical scams, and provide resources if you or a family member believes you were scammed. During the holidays, financial scams are common, especially in areas like online shopping, package delivery, and charity donations. Scammers often use fake emails, text messages, and websites to steal personal information. The presenter is bilingual in English and Spanish, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. The program will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room, on the first floor, off the lobby. Questions about this program? Contact the Library at 240-777-0678.

The Library's web site has more Consumer Resources, linked here within the 'Consumer Information' heading:https://mcpl.aspendiscovery.org/WebBuilder/ResourcesList
