Computer Essentials for New Users

Chatham Community Library, in conjunction with the Kramden Institute, will offer a four-hour, hands-on "Computer Essentials for New Users" class on Friday, October 10, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, in the Holmes Family Meeting Room.  This class is free and open to the public and is designed for adults with little or no computer experience. 

Upon completion of this class, participants will receive a FREE refurbished laptop from the Kramden Institute.

In this class, participants will learn:

Computer Basics:
Mouse and keyboard practice
Using the Microsoft Windows operating system
Using basic apps
Saving, creating, moving, and deleting files
Keeping your device updated

Essential Internet Skills:
Connecting to Wi-Fi
Browsing & searching the internet
Using online forms
Using strong passwords & keeping accounts secure
Identifying & avoiding scams
